Welcome to the Āyurveda 101 mini-course, a brief introduction to the principles and applications of Āyurveda. This first video will introduce you to the foundation of Āyurveda, the 5 great elements. You’ll also learn how Āyurveda organizes these elements to make them easier for us to perceive.

In part two we will explore the dosha and their characteristics. By understanding the dosha we can better understand ourselves and what we need to to support our health and wellbeing.

Before beginning this section take a few moments to discover your prakṛti and vikṛti. Take the free dosha quiz from my website to begin to determine your prakṛti. Remember, we all have all three dosha in us, so more than one answer may apply, choose the one that fits you best and describes your tendencies. You can get a sense for what might be currently out of balance by taking this short quiz by my teacher Kathryn Templeton.

Part 3 of this mini course introduces you to the Āyurvedic daily routine known as dinacharya. You’ll learn simple techniques that are suitable for all dosha. Implementing these daily routines will help you feel more balanced and grounded.
